In March 2019, Disney acquired a vast amount of Fox’s assets, including rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four. One of the characters that also came included was Doctor Doom, one of the most popular villains in Marvel Comics history. If Marvel Studios was looking for that villain who could make the sequel live up to its hype, Doom could certainly do that.
Known more as a Fantastic Four foe, Doctor Doom has been around since 1962. Over the years, he has just about faced off against every hero and group in Marvel’s history. Ruler of the European nation Latveria, Doom is capable of many things. He has genus level intellect, his armor grants him super strength, durability and many other things.
Doom would undoubtedly bring an epic story to the second installment of Black Panther. Also known as a master manipulator, maybe Doom could be the one that turns M’Baku against T’Challa. He could also be the one who provides him with the armor that turns him into Man-Ape.
If Doom were to be the choice, you would not hear any argument from me. I hope it happens. However, something tells me this will not be the road Coogler, and the studio goes down.
Having just acquired the rights to him and many others from Fox, I think the studio will take their time to introduce him and heroes like the X-Men and Fantastic Four. I don’t think you will see any prominent Fox characters until at least 2023. The studio wants to get it right. If he was the choice, it would be epic to see him share the screen with T’Challa.
