The MCU is going to the Emmys! Earlier today, it was announced that Marvel Studios’ first Disney+ series, WandaVision, was nominated for 23 Emmys. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also picked up five nominations.

For WandaVision, the series overall was nominated for “Outstanding Limited Series.” In addition, Elizabeth Olsen (Lead Actress), Paul Bettany (Lead Actor), and Kathryn Hahn (Supporting Actress) were each nominated for their roles.

Shortly after being announced, Marvel Studios congratulated everyone who worked on the series.

The only notable nomination for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier was for Don Cheadle (Guest Actor, Drama), who briefly appeared in the first episode as James Rhodes. While the series was a hit with fans, it was seen as less favorable with critics, specifically the final episode. This would explain why it only received five nominations.

Overall, I’m sure Disney and Marvel Studios are pleased with the recognition both shows have gotten.

  1. Yeah, I personally feel like Falcon and the Winter Soldier wasn’t as good as Wandavision as far as just acting. Even the plotline for Wandavision was really unique, on the other hand I the plot for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier was too deep for having just 6 episodes, and felt a little bit rushed. I honestly like the 9 episode format better.

  2. I liked the 9 episode format a lot more to. I liked Falcon and the Winter Soldier more personally but WandaVision is gonna get more awards because of the whole way that the show was done with going through the different decades. I think they did an excellent job with the intrigue and it was super fun to go through the different decades but the ending was a big letdown for most fans including me.
