(The following has SPOILERS for the season finale of Loki. You’ve been warned)
Some new details have emerged on another project the god of mischief will be seen in. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hiddleston will appear as Loki in the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The Hollywood Reporter didn’t reveal how big of a part Hiddleston’s Loki will have in the film. I’m sure more details will come out in the coming months.
For those that saw the epic season finale of Loki, the news makes complete sense. In the final moments of the episode, Sylvie was able to get her revenge and kill the creator of the TVA (played by Jonathan Majors). By her doing this, however, it appeared that it caused the multiverse to be thrown into chaos. The consequences will now likely be played out in the Doctor Strange sequel, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be one of the biggest events in all of Phase Four. Along with Hiddleston, the film will star Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez. It hasn’t been announced who the villain will be, but a rumor in May suggested Shuma-Gorath.
Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on March 25, 2022.
