Thor: Love and Thunder is shaping up to be one of the biggest events in all of Phase 4. The fourth film in the franchise will see all the typical characters return, like Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster: AKA Mighty Thor). But it will also include Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) and potentially other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The cast will be so big that according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios thinks the film will have an “Avengers 5 feel”. This suggests that more familiar MCU faces might be popping up. With Christin Bale playing the villain, Thor will need all the help he can get.
This won’t be the only Phase 4 film to have characters cross over. In the upcoming Spider-Man 3, Doctor Strange is expected to join Peter Parker. In Strange’s solo film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Scarlet Witch will join him. All these team-ups might be the reason that Phase 4 will not have an Avengers film in it.
Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to begin filming this January in Australia. It will have Taika Waititi once again in the director’s chair and provide Korg’s voice. Originally the film was supposed to come out in November 2021, but it was pushed back to February 2022 because of the pandemic.
