Over the years, there have been several merchandise leaks for upcoming Marvel Studios films that give us our first look at new characters. Because it’s usually a lower resolution camera phone shot, it’s never the way you first want to see any important new characters. But when you have fans as crazy as MCU ones are, these things happen. Well, another leak has indeed occurred, and this time it’s for Thor: Love and Thunder.
Yesterday, snapshots of the film’s collectible Marvel Legends action figures surfaced online. While there were seven total figures shown, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher is the one that everyone is talking about.
As you can see, Marvel Studios is giving Gorr a comic book accurate appearance. The figure even includes his All-Black Necrosword. A weapon he uses to kill countless gods in the comics.
This is technically not the first time we’ve seen the villain’s comic book accurate look. It’s just the best one to date. Last August, Bale was spotted on set in Malibu, California, wearing a pale grey suit.
With 89 days until Thor: Love and Thunder’s release (July 8), we still do not have a trailer. There’s been some online speculation that one could finally drop this week, but given that people have been saying that for the past five or so weeks, I’ll believe it when I see it.
Along with Bale, Thor: Love and Thunder will star Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, and Russell Crowe as Zeus. Taika Waititi will once again serve as director and the voice of Thor’s friend Korg.
So what do you think of Gorr’s look?
