From 2000 to 2017, Hugh Jackman became a household name in the comic world for playing the adamantium clawed Logan, also known as Wolverine. Eight different times, Jackman suited up for the role on the big screen. This included three solo films. Unlike in the comic books though, he never did wear a yellow and black suit. However, in 2013 during his second solo film, The Wolverine, fans came close to seeing just that.
During a deleted scene, Jackman’s Logan is presented with the comic book accurate costume. The scene would end without anyone knowing if he tried it on. Since it’s release, fans have always wondered if at any point during shooting, Jackman tried the famous uniform on.
Well, on Wednesday night, everyone finally got there answer. During Comic Book.com’s Quarantine Watch Party for the 2017 film Logan, Director James Mangold revealed the long-awaited answer.
After Disney’s acquisition of Fox in March 2019, the X-Men franchise will likely be rebooted by Marvel Studios, and Jackman’s Wolverine will seemingly get recast. So the decision on if fans will ever see a comic book accurate version on the big screen will likely come down to Studio President Kevin Feige. Knowing his track record with the MCU, he will make the best call.
