The MCU finally has its She-Hulk. According to Justin Kroll at Deadline, Marvel Studios has chosen actress Tatiana Maslany to play the lead role of Jennifer Walters in the upcoming series for Disney+. The news comes a few days after the studio hired Kat Coiro to direct and serve as EP.
In the comics, Walters is an attorney who’s also the cousin of Bruce Banner (AKA: The Hulk). She acquired her powers after she received a blood transfusion from Bruce. Actor Mark Ruffalo has previously confirmed that he’s held talks with Marvel about making an appearance. However, nothing has been agreed to.
Shorty after the news broke, Ruffalo welcomed Maslany to the MCU on Twitter.
Maslany is best known for her role in the show Orphan Black. For which she earned an Emmy nomination. Most recently she appeared in the HBO series Perry Mason.
It is not known when the series will hit the streaming service. However, their were reports earlier this week that shooting will begin early next year.
But… but… but… what happened to all the reports I saw on YouTube saying that Alison Brie was cast as She-Hulk?
Clearly they were fake or premature. No outlets like Deadline, Variety or Hollywood Reporter ever reported it.
