Spider-Man: No Way Home projected to earn $135M-$185M during opening weekend domestically

To no one’s surprise, Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to have the biggest post-pandemic box office opening when it arrives next month. According to Shawn Robbins of Box Office Pro, the film is projected to earn $135M-$185M in North America during its opening weekend. This would easily top Venom: Let There be Carnage‘s $90M, which currently holds the highest opening of 2021.
What’s even more impressive is that the outlet is also projecting that the Tom Holland-led film will earn somewhere between $375M-$525M worldwide during opening weekend. If these numbers hold, then in just three days, the movie could make more than Black Widow ($379M), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ($431M), and Venom: Let There be Carnage ($443M) did during their overall runs.
With No Way Home also getting a release in China (something other MCU films didn’t get this year), it should become the first film since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) to pass the $1B mark at the box-office.
Tickers for Spider-Man: No Way Home go on sale Monday, November 29th. If you plan on seeing it on opening night, I would definitely buy them as soon as they go online that day.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17.
