Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to cross major box office benchmarks. Yesterday, it was announced that the Sony and Marvel Studios film passed Jurassic World ($1.670B) and The Lion King ($1.662B) to become the sixth highest-grossing film of all time worldwide with $1.691B.

Unfortunately, this will probably be the highest the Tom Holland-led film will climb on the global charts as the next highest is Avengers: Infinity War ($2.048B). Without a release in China, the film is unlikely to catch it.

In North America, No Way Home returned to the number one spot after falling to number two last week (Scream). In its sixth weekend of release, the film brought in $14.1M to give it a domestic total of $721M (fourth most of all time). By the end of its run, it’s possible that it could climb to the number three spot (Avatar $760M).

Sony and Disney have to be pretty pleased with all the cash No Way Home is bringing in. In December, Deadline reported that if the film earned over $1.75B globally, then its net profit would be around $610M for both studios (Sony’s cut $458M, Disney’s $152.5M). With only $60M away from that mark, it’s more than likely that it will hit it in the coming weeks.
