As you can see, Thor is fat no more! He’s back to being his regular muscular self, and by the looks of it, he’s donning a 1980s type outfit. Some have pointed out that this is a similar look to Thunderstrike, a character that appeared as Thor in the comics during the late 1980s.
Also seen in the pictures are Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and also the return of Sean Gunn (James Gunn’s brother) as Kraglin. For unknown reasons, Kraglin was left out of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame after seemingly becoming a member of the Guardians of The Galaxy in Vol 2. It is worth noting though, that Gunn did play Rocket during principal photography in the two Avengers’ films.
One actor that has not joined filming yet is Christian Bale. The three-time Batman actor is set to play the villain of the film Gorr the God Butcher. Fans are waiting to see if the god killing villain will have a pale, Voldemort-like appearance like he did in the comics. If he does, Bale will more than likely have to wear a motion capture suit while filming.
Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to be released in theaters on May 6th, 2022. Taika Waititi has returned to write, direct and play the role of Korg. The fourth entry in the Thor franchise is expected to be the biggest one yet. It’s been reported that the studio feels it will have an “Avengers 5” feel.
