According to Variety, Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion has added Kingsley Ben-Adir to its cast. The actor now joins a series that includes Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Ben Mendelsohn (Talos).
The outlet didn’t reveal who exactly he would be playing, but it did say that it will be the “main villain.”
Kingsley Ben-Adir has become a break-out star over the last couple of years. Most recently, he portrayed Malcolm X in the critically acclaimed film One Night in Miami. Other credits for the 35-year old actor include Noelle, Peaky Blinders, The Comey Rule, and Love Life.
Announced at Disney’s Investor Day event in December, Secret Invasion will be based on one of the largest events in Marvel Comics history. The story involves Skrulls secretly replacing heroes across the globe.
A few months back, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did say that, while the series will be based off the comic book story, it won’t have nearly as many characters.
It’s not known when Secret Invasion will begin filming. Based on the fact it’s supposed to hit the Disney streaming service in 2022, it will probably begin sometime over the summer.
