Disney sure is taking full advantage of its Marvel brand for its streaming service. According to Variety, Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to return as Nick Fury in an upcoming Marvel Studios produced series for Disney+. The trade also reports that Kyle Bradstreet has been hired to write and executive produce the series.
As usual, with any Marvel Studios project, plot details remain under wraps. However, it is clear that Jackson’s Fury role will be the lead.
Some have already started speculating that the show will involve S.W.O.R.D., another intelligence agency expected to be introduced in WandaVision. Others are even thinking bigger, and that the series will involve the Secret Invasion storyline. Something that’s previously been rumored to be in the works for the streamer.
Jackson is no stranger to the role of Nick Fury. Since 2008, he’s appeared in 11 different films as the head super spy. His last outing was in Spider-Man: Far From Home, where’s he’s seen in a post-credit scene working on a Skrull ship.
