Ryan Reynolds says he’s not in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; gives brief update on Deadpool 3

There have been a lot of rumors going around on who will appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After Sunday’s trailer, one of those was proven to be accurate when we heard the voice of Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier. However, there’s still a couple that we’re still waiting to see on, like Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.

Well, during an interview with Variety that was released yesterday, the actor was asked point-blank if he is in the Doctor Strange sequel.

“I’m really not in the movie,” Reynolds insisted. “I’m promising, I’m not in the movie.”

You know, if we’d hadn’t just gone through almost a whole year of hearing Andrew Garfield lie about not being in Spider-Man: No Way Home, then it would be a lot easier to believe Reynolds. Guess will just have to wait and see if he’s telling the truth.

During the same interview, Reynolds also gave a brief update on Deadpool 3 and said that “it’s coming along.”

Not only will this be the first time Marvel Studios is involved in the franchise, but it will also be their first-rated R film overall. Given Reynolds’ busy schedule and the fact that the film doesn’t have a director yet, I wouldn’t expect Deadpool 3 to arrive for at least a couple of years.

As for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, you can see that in theaters on May 6.

  1. Correction, Blade, way back in the 1990s, was the first Marvel film to receive an R. May have not been the MCU, but the story just says Marvel film.
