According to The Direct, Marvel Studios’ upcoming She-Hulk series will include scenes where Jennifer Walters (played by Tatiana Maslany) breaks the fourth wall and talks to the audience. This will be similar to what Deadpool has done in both of his movies.
In the comics, She-Hulk was doing this well before the merc with a mouth. During John Byrne’s Sensational She-Hulk run (1989–1994), which according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will have a “significant influence” on the Disney+ series, Walters would occasionally turn and address the readers.
Another tidbit that The Direct reported was that the “super-powered Walters will also have multiple interactions with real-world people in her ten-episode series.” This would fall in line with another report recently that Megan Thee Stallion would appear in the series as herself.
Filming for She-Hulk has been ongoing since April. Along with Maslany, the series will star Ginger Gonzaga as Walters’ best friend, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Amelia, Jameela Jamil as Titania, and Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky (AKA The Abomination). It will also see Mark Ruffalo reprise his role as Bruce Banner (AKA The Hulk).
Expect She-Hulk to hit the Disney streaming service sometime in 2022.
