Back in March, it was reported that Richard E. Grant had signed on to be in the upcoming Loki series on Disney+. Now the Swazi-British actor has confirmed through his Twitter account his involvement in the series.
With filming starting back up again last week, it would seem likely that Grant confirmed his involvement now because he is getting ready to join shooting.
As for who he will be playing, that’s currently unknown. Back when his casting was first reported, speculation at the time was that he was going to play Kang the Conqueror. However, with the reveal in the last month that Jonathan Majors will be playing the character in Ant-Man 3, that will not be the case. Judging by Grant’s history with roles as villains, I would still bet that his character will be going against the God of Mischief instead of fighting with him.
Along with Grant, the series will star Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. It’s expected to premiere sometime in the Spring of 2021 on the Disney streaming service. However, with all the release date changes going on with Marvel Studios’ projects, don’t be surprised if it’s pushed back.
