Report: Ms. Marvel series premiere date has been pushed to early 2022

By Stephen Ippolito | August 3rd, 2021

Last week, MCU fans found it strange that Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye received a release date (November 24th) before Ms. Marvel did. It had been long thought that it would premiere before the Jeremy Renner-led series. Now thanks to a report by TVLine, we may have just found out why it was announced first.

According to the outlet, Ms. Marvel has been delayed and will now hit the streaming service in early 2022.

“I asked around and it is very safe to assume at this point that Ms. Marvel is now on track for an early 2022 premiere.”

Matt Webb Mitovich of TVLine

If the report is accurate, hopefully the series was pushed because Disney thought 2022 would be a better time strategically for a release, and not because it needs reshoots.

Starring Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel has been done filming since May. Recently a leaked promo art of Vellani suited up confirmed that Kamala will have new abilities.

This goes along with rumors over the last couple of months that this version of the character will be able to create purple light constructs similar to Green Lantern. It’s not known if she will also have elastic like powers like she does in the comics.
