As the country and world begin to open again and people get back to work in Hollywood, you will see more and more MCU news start to pop up. Recently Marvel Studios met with Michelle MacLaren about directing Captain Marvel 2. Now it looks like they’ve talked with another director to helm the follow up to Marvel’s first female superhero led film.

According to MCU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad, the studio has been talking with Deborah Chow about working on one of “multiple projects.” Conrad did not specifically say that one of the projects was Captain Marvel 2, but he did suggest that it was possible. With the MacLaren report, we know that the studio is currently looking for a director for the film. We also know that they want a woman to direct it. So by connecting the dots, this is where he got the Captain Marvel 2 speculation.

Chow is no stranger to Disney projects. In 2019, she directed two episodes of The Mandalorian. The first Star Wars live-action series. She’s also slated to direct the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which will also air on the streamer. This would not be the first superhero project Chow has worked on. Back in 2018, she directed one episode of Netflix’s Jessica Jones series.
