‘Loki’, the upcoming Disney+ series, has added another member to it’s cast. Variety and The Hollywood Reporter report that Gugu Mbatha-Raw has been added to the god of mischief’s series. Mbatha-Raw is the second person added in the last week after Owen Wilson reportedly joined the series.
Mbatha-Raw has been in a number of films and series throughout her career. Her resume includes roles in Disney’s 2017 live adaptation of ‘Beauty And The Beast’, ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ and more recently she appeared in Apple’s ‘The Morning Show’. Like most things with Marvel, her role with the series is being kept under wraps.
‘Loki’, played by Tom Hiddleston, has been one of the most popular villains, if not characters since he joined the MCU in 2011 when he made his first appearance in ‘Thor’. Last we saw of him was in 2019’s ‘Avengers Endgame’ when an alternate time version of him (long story) escaped the Avengers custody. The series is expected to follow this version of Loki.
Loki is set to hit Disney+ Spring 2021.
