Over the past couple of months, there have been multiple rumors about Charlie Cox returning to play Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) in the MCU. Just this past week, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige awkwardly avoided answering the question about the topic. According to a new rumor, we might know why the Marvel chief responded to the question the way he did.
During his Phase Zero podcast this afternoon, ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis said that he’s heard from a source that Cox has been on the set of the upcoming Spider-Man 3 film. Davis would add that he’s not sure if Cox will play the same Daredevil from the Netflix series or if this will be a “reboot” of the character.
Davis also said that the source that told him about this was the same one that told him about Owen Wilson joining the Loki series, which turned out to be true. So it’s safe to say that he feels pretty confident that this is happening.
There are all sorts of ways that Cox’s Daredevil could be introduced in the film. With Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, looking to be in a tight spot at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, some think Matt Murdock could play his lawyer. Others believe that he could be introduced through the Multiverse, seemingly set to be a significant part of the film.
Filming for the third Spidey film has been going on since November. It’s expected to hit theaters on December 17th, 2021.
