In the final episodes of WandaVision, it was revealed that Vision (played by Paul Bettany) was rebuilt by S.W.O.R.D. and given an all-white body. Built initially to takedown Wanda, the White Vision ended up flying away after Westview’s Vision helped him access part of his memories. It was thought that this would not be the last we’d see of Bettany in the MCU.
Now in a new interview with The Playlist, Bettany reveals whether he knows or not when White Vision will return.
“No. I mean, I’m honest with you. I still don’t know that,” Bettany reiterated. “I don’t have a contract. I don’t know that. I don’t know that at all. And all that I do know is, as far as this sort of traunch of press goes, it’s for an Emmy push, which is for a limited series. So it doesn’t look like that happening again. I mean, I guess it would be difficult to introduce White Vision and not deal with him in some way, but we have not discussed that.”
Who knows if he’s telling the truth or not. This is the same Paul Bettany who said to expect a “Luke Skywalker type” cameo in WandaVision, only for it to turn out to be himself. So he’s known to not exactly be truthful.
I can’t imagine that Marvel hasn’t given him a heads up on if he will be back or not. He may not know what project it will be, but I’m sure he knows if it’s a “yes” or “no”. As for the part about not having a contract, that can be fixed easily. All the studio has to do is throw some money his way.
There’s certainly plenty of projects for White Vision to return. Some of the obvious ones include Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Armor Wars, and Secret Invasion.
