(The Following contains potential SPOILERS for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. You’ve been warned.)
It’s been long known that Kang the Conqueror (played by Jonathan Majors) would be the big bad in the upcoming film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, there have also been rumblings that MODOK, another well-known Marvel villain, would also be involved in it.
On his Patreon account, Daniel says that Ant-Man (2015) main villain Darren Cross (played by Corey Stoll) will play MODOK in the film.
It’s been known since the summer that Stoll would make an appearance in the movie. At the end of Ant-Man, It was thought that Cross had died when his Yellowjacket suit gruesomely imploded and sent him to the Quantum Realm. Well, if this report is accurate, then not only did he survive the trip, he’s also gone through a transformation that’s made him the long-time Marvel foe.
Once again, it appears that Marvel Studios will make a change to its source material. In the comics, MODOK was originally a man named George Tarleton and not Darren Cross. He underwent an experiment to increase his intelligence. While it succeeded in doing just that, it also made his head freakishly large and forced him to move around with a hover chair.
Filming for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wrapped up last month. Along with Stoll and Majors, it will star Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Bill Murray, and Kathryn Newton as Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang.
Look for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to hit theaters on July 28, 2023.
