Yesterday, Empire Magazine released two new covers that showcased Marvel Studios’ next series, Moon Knight. Well, earlier this morning, the outlet shared a brand-new picture that confirmed that the Marc Spector (played by Oscar Isaac) persona known as Mr. Knight will also appear in the series.
As you can see, Mr. Knight, who was first introduced in the comics in 2014, does not don a hood or a cape like the traditional Moon Knight costume. Instead, he wears a pristine white/gray suit and carries a cane. He also doesn’t consider himself a superhero/vigilante but rather a detective or private investigator.
The Empire Magazine piece also included an exclusive interview with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. During their talk, the MCU architect made it sound like this will be the studios most violent project yet.
“He’s brutal,” Feige says. “It’s been fun to work with Disney+ and see the boundaries shifting on what we’re able to do. There are moments [in the series] when Moon Knight is wailing on another character, and it is loud and brutal, and the knee-jerk reaction is, ‘We’re gonna pull back on this, right?’ No. We’re not pulling back. There’s a tonal shift. This is a different thing. This is Moon Knight.”
While it seems like Moon Knight is going to be unlike anything Marvel Studios has ever done before, I still wouldn’t expect it to get a TV-MA rating on the family-friendly streaming service. However, it definitely sounds like it’s going to stretch the boundaries of a TV-14 rating.
Along with Isaac, Moon Knight will star Ethan Hawke, and May Calamawy. Slated to span six episodes, the series will premiere on the Disney streaming service on March 30.
