With a little over a month until it premieres, Marvel Studios has started to ramp up marketing for their upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye. So last night on ABC, they released a minute long promo that contained brand new footage.
The highlight of the spot was at the 11 second mark where we get our best look at Alaqua Cox’s Echo. In the shot it looks like she’s joined by Fra Fee’s Kazimierz Kazimierczak (AKA the Clown). Fans will certainly recognize that name as he was the one responsible for making Clint Barton (AKA Hawkeye) go deaf during Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye comic book run that started in 2012.
Judging from the way they were walking together, it seems that Echo and the Clown will be working together to take on Barton (played by Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfeld). Because Echo is getting her own Disney+ series, I’m sure by the end of the show’s six episode run she will switch sides.
Along with Renner, Steinfeld, Cox, and Fee, Hawkeye will star Vera Farmiga as Kate’s mom, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. There’s also been rumors that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his Wilson Fisk (AKA Kingpin) role from the Netflix Daredevil series. Is it possible that both Echo and the Clown are working for the Kingpin?
The first two episodes of Hawkeye are slated to drop on November 24. The final episode will be released right before Christmas on December 22.
