Looks like we’re still finding out who the supporting cast is for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Ms. Marvel series. According to Deadline, actress Anjali Bhimani has joined the Disney+ show. While the outlet didn’t reveal exactly who she would be playing, they did describe her role as “recurring.”
Given that filming for the series has been done for a while, chances are that Bhimani was cast a while ago and it’s just now getting out.
This isn’t the first Marvel show Bhimani has appeared in. During Marvel’s Runaways‘ run on Hulu, she portrayed Mita Nansari for two episodes during the show’s third season. The actress is also known for her performances in video games, including Rampart in Apex Legends, Symmetra in Overwatch, and roles in the Critical Role franchise.
Ms. Marvel will star Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani American who lives in Jersey City. In the comics, Kamala has “embiggen” powers (ability to enlarge and stretch her limbs). However, after being reported for months, it was finally revealed during Disney+ Day last November that her abilities will be different.
Along with Vellani and Bhimani, Ms. Marvel will star Laurel Marsden, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, and Yasmeen Fletcher.
While no release date has been announced yet, the series will reportedly premiere sometime in June.
