What was supposed to be a positive week for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight has suddenly turned into a tragic one. Earlier today it was announced that actor Gaspard Ulliel, who was set to appear in the series, passed away at the age of 37.
It had been reported that the French actor was said to be in serious condition after being involved in a skiing accident in the Alps on Tuesday. After being helicoptered to the hospital, he sadly died this morning. Ulliel’s family and agents have since confirmed the news.
According to Deadline, over the last couple of days authorities had been “responding to multiple accidents in the region due to hard snow and ice on the slopes”. On Saturday, in a different incident, a 5-year-old girl died after a skier crashed into her.
Ulliel, who won the Cesar Award for Best Actor in 2017 for his role in It’s Only the End of the World, was also known for appearing in Twice Upon a Time, Hannibal Rising, The Dancer.
Condolences to Gaspard’s friends and family.
