With filming set to begin in the coming months, the Marvel Studios produced series Moon Knight has added a new member to its cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress May Calamawy has joined the series.

The outlet did not say who she will be playing but did report that it will be a “key role.” Fans online have already started speculating that she will play Marlene Alraune. In the comics, she’s known to aid Marc Spector (aka Moon Knight) in his crime fighting efforts.

Calamawy, who was born in Bahrain, doesn’t have that many acting credits under her belt. Her most notable role is for the Emmy-nominated Hulu show Ramy.

The series is expected to start filming in March in Budapest. Actor Oscar Isaac has already been cast as Moon Knight. It will be directed by Mohamed Diab (will also serve as showrunner), Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead.

Recently we learned that the show will consist of six 40-50 minute episodes. Look for it to hit Disney+ sometime in 2022.
