With a little over a month till it comes out, Marvel Studios has released a new promo spot for their second Phase 4 film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The one minute video contained brand new footage that was not shown in the first two trailers.
Despite the recent resurgence of the pandemic, it doesn’t appear that Marvel Studios and Disney is budging on pushing the film back from it’s September 3rd release date. It also doesn’t look like they will switch the film to a hybrid release like they did for Black Widow. If there is a change, I would expect the studio to announce it no later than August 12th, which is when the companies quarterly earnings call is.
Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will star Simu Liu as the titular hero. It will also star Tony Leung as his villainous father Wenwu, whose also known as the Mandarin. The film is be directed by Destin Caniel Cretton.
