I can’t believe what I just watched. During tonight’s Super Bowl pregame show, Marvel Studios released a brand new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. During the two-minute video, it was confirmed that Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Charles Xavier.
While you don’t see Stewart’s Xavier, you do hear his voice. During the scene, a handcuffed Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch), is brought to a court room. It is here that we hear the legendarily actors voice.
While Stewart is definitely playing the telepathic X-Men leader, it’s not expected to be the same one from the Fox film series. Instead, it’s rumored to be a variant of the character that is part of a group known as the Illuminati in it’s universal.
Some other notable shots in the trailer include the Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) taking on a Captain Marvel look a like opponent and different variants of Doctor Strange, including a Zombie one.
Shortly after the trailers release, the studio also dropped another poster.
Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated to hit theaters on May 6th.
