Marvel Studios releases extended version of Zemo’s dance scene

By Stephen Ippolito | April 8th, 2021

Unlike Zack Snyder’s Justice League, it only took fans six days to get Marvel Studios to release the so-called “Zemo cut.” A short time ago, the studio released an extended scene of Baron Zemo (played by Daniel Brühl) dancing in a club. The original clip, which was five seconds long, gained popularity on social media after premiering in the third episode of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series.

The call for the epic footage to be released started when Brühl confirmed its existence during an interview this week with Entertainment Tonight.

“It is so crazy!” Brühl said of the reaction from fans. “That was such a weird choice I made on the day. It wasn’t scripted. It was improvised. I was there, I saw the crowd, I heard the beats, I thought Zemo needs to show his moves. He needs to let off some steam after sitting in a dodgy German prison for years. And every possibility to annoy Sam and Bucky is good, so I just decided to do this little dance.”

This was a brilliant move by Disney marketing to release it one day before Episode 4 hits Disney+. Within 30 minutes after its release, the video was seen by over 500,000 people on Twitter and was trending in the United States.
