According to Variety, Marvel Studios is developing a spinoff series for Disney+ that will center around Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. Hahn, who debuted as Agatha in WandaVision earlier this year, will reportedly star in it. The outlet also says that WandaVision writer Jac Schaeffer will write and executive produce the series.
In addition, Deadline reports that Hahn will not only reprise Harkness in the spinoff series, but also “across the MCU – on streaming and in movies – under a larger deal she has made with the studio.” I’m sure speculation will now begin that one of those projects will be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
As you can imagine, plot details for the spinoff are not known. However, Variety did note that the show is being described as a “dark comedy”.
Since her debut, fans have overwhelming loved Hahn’s portray of Harkness. Her song (Agatha All Along) that revealed her evil intentions, climbed all the way to the top of iTunes’ charts when it was released. Hahn also received critical acclaim for the role as she received an Emmy nomination for her performance.
The last we saw of Agatha was in the finale of WandaVision. In it, Wanda punishes her for her actions by trapping her inside her own mind as “Agnes.” The question everyone will now be asking is will the show take place after or before the events of WandaVision?
What do you think of Hahn’s Harkness getting her own show?
