Marvel Studios finally confirms Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight

By Stephen Ippolito | May 27th, 2021

Despite the fact that everyone in the world has known since last October, for the very first time, Marvel Studios has confirmed that Oscar Isaac will play Marc Spector (aka Moon Knight) in an upcoming Disney+ series.

Isaac and the studio made the announcement on social media.

It’s not known exactly why it took so long for Marvel to acknowledge that Isaac had been cast. Questions started to emerge when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige failed to announce it during December’s Investor Day Event. However, in March, it was becoming clear that the role was his when Sebastian Stan brought up Isaac’s name during an interview. Feige, who was present, didn’t contradict him. Further confirmation was given in April when he was spotted getting ready to film the series in Budapest.

Aside from Isaac, Moon Knight will star Ethan Hawke as the main villain, and May Calamawy. Jeremy Slate will be its head writer, while Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead will serve as directors. The series is not expected to hit the Disney streaming service until 2022.
