Marvel boss Kevin Feige says more Avengers films will be made at some point, just not in Phase 4

When Marvel Studios presented their upcoming Phase 4 slate at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 and Disney’s Investors Day in December, it was missing the next installment for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. After Avengers: Endgame’s record-breaking box-office performance in 2019, it was pretty obvious that the series would continue with a so-called “Avengers 5”. It just wouldn’t be anytime soon.
In an interview with IGN, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did confirm that “at some point,” a new Avengers film will be released. He also said that it won’t be in Phase 4.
The question now becomes when does Phase 4 end and when does Phase 5 begin? During a WandaVision press conference on Sunday, Feige was asked this very question. Unfortunately for us, he wouldn’t’ answer it.
At the moment, Marvel has films slated through 2023(Fantastic Four, Deadpool 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania). Assuming those films are considered to still be in Phase 4, the earliest Phase 5 could begin is 2024. So unless the studio decides to kick the Phase off with an Avengers film, which they’ve never done before, your probably looking at sometime in 2025, 2026, or 2027 for it to be released.
This is all just speculation on my end. In fact, Phase 5 could begin in 2023, which would move “Avengers 5” up a little bit. Either way, it looks like we’re going to be waiting a while on the most popular film franchise in the MCU.
But, there are still going to have Avengers movies in the future and that’s all that matters!
