Another Loki star has confirmed that they’ll be back for the sophomore season of the Disney+ series. During an interview this week with Wired to promote his new movie Marry Me (which is being directed by She-Hulk filmmaker Kat Coiro), Owen Wilson officially announced that he’ll be back for the second season. The actor, of course, played TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius in the first season.
“Is Owen Wilson coming back to Loki? Um…yes,” Wilson responded. “He is coming back to Loki, and I think we’re going to begin filming that pretty soon. I had a great time working on Loki. I really enjoyed Tom Hiddleston and all the people on that [show].”
The news of Wilson’s return shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise. The last we saw of him was in the season finale’s final moments after the Sacred Timeline was split. In the scene, Loki, who had unknowingly been transported to another reality, approached Mobius at the TVA. After realizing that Mobius had no idea who he was, the God of Mischief runs away and discovers a giant statue of Kang of the Conquer.
Filming for season 2 is expected to begin sometime over the summer in the UK. Along with Wilson, the series will see the return of Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Ravonna Renslayer).
Since the first season ended in July, there have been multiple reports that Wilson will also appear as Mobius in the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 6). It’s already known that Hiddleston will appear in it, so the news makes sense.
