During an overnight shoot on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in Boston, MA, actress Letitia Wright was hospitalized after suffering a minor injury. Wright, who plays Shuri in the MCU, sustained the injury during a stunt with a rig.
In response to the incident, Marvel released a statement acknowledging the injury.
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon.”
According to Justin Kroll at Deadline, Wright was actually released within the last hour. He also said that the injury will not have any impact on the shooting schedule.
Filming for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been ongoing since late June. Last week, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that actress Dominique Thorne will make her MCU debut as Riri Williams (AKA Ironheart) in the film.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated to hit theaters on July 8, 2022.
