One of the most talked-about fan fantasy casting for future MCU roles is John Krasinski playing Reed Richards (AKA: Mister Fantastic). Since Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced last summer at Comic-Con that a Fantastic Four reboot was in the works, fans have been drawing fan art of who they want playing Marvel’s first family, and most of them involve Krasinski. People have even taken it further and made Krasinski’s real-life wife, Emily Blunt, as Sue Storm (AKA: Invisible Woman) in some drawings.
While promoting his new movie, A Quiet Place Part 2, Comic Book.com caught up with Krasinski to ask him about his thoughts of possibly playing Mister Fantastic:
I would love to do it. I think to be a part of the Marvel world would be amazing anyway, and the fact that people would even consider me for that level of a part would be amazing. I genuinely have had no conversations or don’t know anything that’s happening with that. I’m awaiting Kevin’s announcements of what the hell’s happening with that as much as you are.
There have been no updates on the MCU’s Fantastic Four as of late. The only time Marvel Studios has brought it up was at Comic-Con last summer. In an interview with Variety after the announcement, Feige said that the film was in early development and that conversations about casting had not even come up yet.
Until more is announced, we are going to have to wait and see just like Krasinski is.
