For over a year, it’s been widely rumored that Charlie Cox would be reprising his role as Matt Murdock (AKA Daredevil) in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Well, while it’s still not known if he will appear in the film, it’s now known that Cox will be the MCU’s Daredevil.
During an interview with CinemaBlend, Marvel Studios President confirmed that Cox, who played the role on Netflix’s Daredevil series, will be taking his talents to the MCU.
“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”
While Feige doesn’t say that he’ll be making his debut in No Way Home, I think it’s safe to say that he is. The real question will now be, what will he appear in after it?
Given his history with the character in the comics, many believe that it could be the Echo Disney+ series. Others have said that it could be his own show for the streamer.
It is unknown if this will be the same Matt Murdock that Cox played on the canceled Netflix series. Some have suggested that he character could be given a “soft reboot.” This would allow the studio to start fresh with the role and not use any of his previous history. I guess will just have to wait and see.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17.
