Jamie Foxx confirms his return as Electro and says he “won’t be blue in this one”

Yesterday MCU fans learned some shocking news. Actor Jamie Foxx will return to play Electro in the upcoming Spider-Man 3 film. This afternoon, the actor confirmed the news in a post on his Instagram account that has since been deleted.

The photo that he also posted, shows three Spider-Man looking up at Foxx’s Electro. This will now certainly fuel speculation that the Multiverse will be involved in the film.
It seems though that the Spidey villain will not be an exact take on his 2014 version (The Amazing Spider-Man 2). The actor revealed that he “won’t be blue in this one”. Fans will undoubtedly enjoy hearing that, considering the character and the rest of the film were negatively received.
As for how Electro could make his way into the MCU through the Multiverse? Speculation has been mounting that we could find out in WandaVision. The Disney+ series, that’s slated to be released in late 2020, is expected to explore the Scarlet Witch’s reality-altering powers. Perhaps she somehow messes with the Multiverse which allows Foxx’s Electro to come to the MCU.
The third Spider-Man film in the MCU is expected to be released on December 17, 2021. It will star Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori. Jon Watts will return for his third outing as director.
Um, Fox as Electro was terrible. I would move on to another villain, but let’s hope they get it right this time.
100% agree. That whole movie was terrible. But I definitely think they won’t make the same mistake again.
