James Gunn says someone will die in GOTG 3; has no current plans for a 4th film

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has certainly kept websites like mine busy during this Coronavirus pandemic. He has been active on social media doing watch parties and answering fan’s questions about the future of the franchise. Today on Instagram, he was at it again answering MCU fans questions.

During the session, someone asked him if someone will die in the third outing in the series.

Now, this is a broad statement, it literally could mean anyone, small or large role. But It will have fans wondering if it means one of the lead guardians (Starlord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Nebula, Mantis) will meet their end. Some will wonder if it will be Rocket as Gunn has already said his origin will be a part of the film.

In another post, Gunn answered another fan’s question about if he has any plans for a fourth installment in the series.

So it’s not a definite no that he will not return, but at the moment it’s not looking likely. I’m sure a lot will depend on how well the third film does and other unpredictable factors. Either way, I’m happy Gunn is giving me things to write about during this crisis.
