Last night, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn gave fans a quick update on the third installment in the series. On his Twitter account, he posted that the script is been finished and that “most of the production heads” have been hired.

When asked if anything in the script had changed since he was fired in 2018, Gunn said, “not much.”

At the moment, it’s not known when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will go into production or when it will even be released. Currently, Gunn is getting ready to shoot his upcoming HBO Max show Peacemaker. Starring John Cena, the show is a spinoff of The Suicide Squad, an upcoming film that Gunn also directed.

To no ones surprise, not much is known about plot details for the third Guardians film.  The only hints Gunn has given is that Rocket’s origin will somehow be involved.  Before they appear in the film, the Guardians are expected to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, which is slated to come out in February 2022.
