Well, it seems that some MCU news made it through the cracks of yesterday’s Disney Investor Day. According to Justin Kroll over at Deadline, Jamie Alexander is set to return as the fierce Asgardian warrior Sif in Thor: Love and Thunder.
After appearing in the first two Thor films, Alexander’s Sif was left out of Thor: Ragnarok. The franchise went through sort of a “reboot” and left her and others like the Warriors Three and Jane Foster out of it for the most part.
Kroll also said that Thor: Love and Thunder is not the only MCU project Alexander is set to return for. According to him, he’s heard from “insiders” that she could appear in a Disney+ series, possibly Loki.
The fourth installment in the Thor franchise is expected to be a major event in the MCU’s Phase 4. It will reportedly have an “Avengers 5” feel because of it’s large ensemble cast. With the addition of Sif, it sounds more and more like this will be the case.
At Disney’s Investor Day event yesterday, it was announced that Christian Bale will be playing the film’s villain, Gorr the God Butcher. It was also announced that the film had been pushed back a couple of months to May 6, 2022.
