J.K. Simmons says he is signed to appear in the next Spider-Man sequel

One of the best parts, if not the best, of Spider-Man: Far From Home was the mid-credit scene. In it, we see Mysterio reveal to the world that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. We also see the return of a familiar face from a previous Spidey film series. That face is none other than J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Simmons has opened up about the appearance and revealed that he is signed up to appear in the third MCU Spider-Man film. He would add that while he is signed up, the studio is not obligated to use him. After the fan’s reaction to his return, it’s hard to see the studio not using him. In fact, I would imagine he would have a significant role and not just another cameo.

Of course, Simmons played the character in all three of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films (2002-07). While that Jameson was portrayed more like he was in the comics (head of a newspaper), this version was depicted as a controversial political podcast/YouTube star. The third MCU Spider-Man film is set to be released on November 5, 2021.
