Fandango survey says Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the most anticipated film for 2022

By Stephen Ippolito | December 27th, 2021

With 2021 set to end this week, Fandango, an American ticketing company, has released a top 10 list that polled 6,000 fans this month of what movie they are most excited to see in 2022. Well, not only did Marvel Studios have multiple films on the list, they had the number one overall spot.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is set to be released on November 11, came in at number one. Between how popular the first one was in 2018 and the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman in August 2020, it really isn’t that surprising that it was voted the most anticipated film.

Coming in at number two was Sony’s animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part 1. The sequel to the popular 2018 film (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) will arrive in theaters on October 7. While it definitely deserves to be on the list, my guess on why it came in at number two is because people were still riding their Spider-Man: No Way Home high when they voted.

Marvel Studios’ two other films set to be released next year also made the cut. Thor: Love and Thunder (July 8) came in at number four, while Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 6) came in at number six.

So do you agree with the list? If not, what Marvel movie are you looking forward to seeing in 2022?
