According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-nominated actor Ethan Hawke has joined the upcoming Moon Knight series. The outlet reports that the longtime actor will go up against Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight and play the series’ villain.
Hawke has been making movies for over 35 years. His most notable credits include Dead Poets Society, Gattaca, Training Day, and Boyhood. Believe it or not, this will be the first time that he appears in a super-hero film or series.
It is unknown which villain Hawke will play, but speculation has already started that it could be Bushman. For those unfamiliar, in the comics, Bushman was a mercenary who worked with Marc Spector (Aka Moon Knight). During a mission, he turned on him and left him for dead.
Hawke is the third person to be cast in the show. He joins Issac and actress May Calamawy who joined just this week.
The series is slated to be six episodes long and will be released on Disney+ sometime in 2022. It will be directed by Mohamed Dia (also serves as showrunner), Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Filming is scheduled to begin in Budapest in March.
