Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reshoots were done to add more cameos

It appears that at least one of the reasons behind the recent Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reshoots has been revealed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reshoots, which began last month and are now complete, were done to add more “cameos” to the film.

The outlet added that the decision was made in part because of the positive reactions from “alternate versions of characters” appearing in the Loki series and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“It seems like Marvel was jazzed by the many actors crossing paths with each other in No Way Home andthe playfulness of having alternate versions of characters appear onscreen in Loki. So they decided to have “more fun with the multiverse,” according to one source, and to include more cameos and character introductions in Doctor Strange 2.”

This is not the first time we’ve heard that the Doctor Strange sequel will include cameos. Since filming began over a year ago, there have been reports that actors from Fox’s X-Men franchise like Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) would appear.

Believe it or not, there was also a rumor that Tom Cruise would appear as Tony Stark from a different universe in the film. According to the report at the time, Cruise was being added because he had actually been eyed for the role in the 2000s before it eventually went to Robert Downey Jr..

It will be interesting to see if any of this turns out to be true. You can catch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in theaters on May 6, 2022.

So what Marvel character from a previous film franchise do you want to see appear?
