Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is not only getting a new director. Reports came in via The Hollywood Reporter, that the Doctor Strange squeal will be replacing writer Jade Bartlett with Michael Waldron. Waldron is no stranger to the MCU. He is also slated as the head writer of the upcoming Disney+ series Loki.
The sequel to the 2016 box office hit has gone through a couple major changes over the last month. In January it was announced that director Scott Dickerson had departed the project due to “creative differences”.
With an expected May start time for shooting a replacement search was soon commenced and earlier this week it appeared the search was over as the original Spider-Man Trilogy director Sam Raimi was reportedly in talks to take over. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated to open May 7, 2021.
