Back in January, it was reported that Michelle Yeoh would be in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The role would be a different character than the one she briefly portrayed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Now through a post on her Instagram account, we might have just got confirmation that she will indeed be in the Marvel Studios produced film.
The three pictures that Yeoh posted were taken in Sydney, Australia. The same location that filming is scheduled to resume. While this is not exactly confirmation of her involvement, it is interesting to note that two of the film’s stars, Simu Liu and Awkwafina, both liked the photos.
This would not be the first time an actor or actress will play multiple roles in the MCU. Gemma Chan, who played Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel, is also slated to portray Sersi in the upcoming The Eternals film. When it comes to specific roles and their size, it appears that the studio is not against this occurring.
Originally the film was scheduled to come out in February 2021, which means we would have had a trailer by now. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, like all of Hollywood’s productions, filming was shut down in March. As a result, it was pushed back to May 2021.
