Looks like another character who appeared in the first two Ant-Man films will not be back for the third. While appearing at the Moon Knight red carpet premiere this week, actor David Dastmalchian, who played Scott Lang’s friend Kurt Goreshter, revealed that he is not in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
“It doesn’t look like it… But that’s okay. I know they’re making something incredible. I can’t wait to see what Peyton does next. He’s one of my favorite directors…He’s been so busy. I have tried to stay in touch, but he’s making an incredible film right now.”
Dastmalchian is not the only member of Lang’s X-Con team that will not be returning. In March 2021, it was reported that T.I. would not be back after it was revealed that the actor/rapper was facing multiple sexual assault allegations. With the two of them out, one must wonder if Luis (played Michael Peña) will also not return. With the film set to heavily focus on the Quantum Realm, it makes sense that Lang’s team will not be featured.
Filming for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania began last summer and concluded in November when director Peyton Reed announced it had wrapped. However, recent set photos of Paul Rudd in Los Angeles suggest that reshoots have already begun.
Along with Rudd, the film will star Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne), Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang), Corey Stoll (Darren Cross), Bill Murray, and Jonathan Majors as the villain Kang the Conqueror. Recently Samuel L. Jackson hinted that his Nick Fury will also be in it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrives in theaters on July 28, 2023.
