According to Deadline, Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion. She now joins Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, who she’s worked closely alongside since 2012’s The Avengers.
Based off the popular event from Marvel Comics, Secret Invasion will revolve around Fury and his partner Talos (played by Ben Mendelsohn) as they investigate shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating the Earth for years.
The last time we saw Smulders as Hill was during the funeral scene for Tony Stark at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Smulders did appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but it turned out that her character was the Skrull Soren the whole time.
Along with Smulders, Jackson, and Mendelsohn, Secret Invasion will star Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Christopher McDonald, Killian Scott, and Kingsley Ben-Adir as the main villain.
While Secret Invasion doesn’t have a release date, it’s expected to arrive on the Disney streaming service sometime in late 2022.
