In March, Vin Diesel, who provides the voice of Groot, announced that the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. The news was not really that shocking because the last time we saw Thor was at the end of Avengers: Endgame when he hitched a ride from the Guardians.
Now thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we know that this is still the plan because they report Chris Pratt has joined the cast. The outlet did not say if any other Guardians will join the film or what the size of Pratt’s role will be.
Filming for the fourth Thor film is expected to begin in Australia this January. Taika Waititi will once again write, direct, and provide the voice of Korg. Also returning will be Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. Unlike her first two appearances, Portman’s Foster is expected to become a female version of Thor. Also part of the cast is Christian Bale, who will play the villain.
Originally Thor: Love and Thunder was supposed to come out in November 2021. However, due to the pandemic, it was pushed back to February 11, 2022.
