As we wait patiently for the first trailer, it’s been revealed that the early stages of Thor: Love and Thunder’s press tour have begun. On his Instagram account earlier today, Chris Hemsworth announced the news in a photo that included himself with director Taiki Waititi and costar Tessa Thompson.
With 95 days until its release (July 8), it’s pretty amazing that Marvel Studios has yet to officially release any photo, let alone a trailer, of the film. On average, the first trailers for MCU movies come out 155 days before their release. The shortest time was 2008’s The Incredible Hulk at 93 days. So if it has not come out by Thursday, then Thor: Love and Thunder will officially own the record for shortest time between the first trailer’s release and the film’s release.
Because of Hemsworth’s announcement today, many online have taken it as an indication that it’s release could be imminent. However, some believe that it’s still weeks away and that it could drop around Disney’s presentation at CinemaCon later this month (April 25-28).
With not having a trailer yet and news emerging recently that re-shoots were still going on, there were some fears that Love and Thunder was going to get delayed again. Thanks to today’s posting, you have to think that is not the case anymore and that it’s still on track to come out in July.
Along with Hemsworth and Thompson, Thor: Love and Thunder will star Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Russell Crowe, and Christian Bale as the villain Gorr the God Butcher.
